                                                     Central Ethiopian Region Women and Children Affairs Bureau Head

One of the issues that are taken as a guarantee to ensure progress in a country's development journey is the active participation of all citizens in the development process. Women and children, who make up about ¾ of the population, are vulnerable to extreme poverty as they do not have the opportunity to actively participate in the development process. The actual situation of our country and our region is no  different from this, which in addition to aggravating poverty, has caused our journey of democracy and good governance to not accelerate. Therefore, the Women and Children Bureau of the Central Ethiopia Region aims to overcome the distorted society's view which is the source of the problem, to ensure the equal participation and benefit of women in the economic, social and political development fields of the region, as well as to speed up the universal education of children so that they can become producers and citizens in the future.

The women and children's affairs sector carries out its work in two Departments. These are Women and Children Departments and also operates with the main objectives based on the rights of women and children set by the constitution, women's affairs policy, women's development and change package, as well as social security development policy and international agreements accepted by our country, African children's charter and family law.
